Season four of “All American” covers the 2016-2017 school year. The show follows the life of Jimmy Johnson (Zach Braff), who is a freshman at Yale University and an all-American soccer player. Along with his friends and teammates, Jimmy experiences many new things during his first season away from home. Some of these things include living in a dormitory for the first time, dealing with new people and trying to adjust to college life.
One major event that takes place in the fourth season is Jimmy’s relationship with Lily (Keke Palmer). Lily is a senior at Yale who is also captain of the soccer team.Jimmy and Lily start dating towards the end of the season, but their relationship faces some challenges in its early stages. These challenges stem from different aspects of both their lives – Jimmy is still adjusting to being away from home, while Lily is dealing with pressures from her friends and family about whether or not she should date someone who is not wealthy like them. Eventually though, they work through these issues and are able to build a strong relationship together.

The fourth season of “All American” aired from July 22nd to September 18th and featured a lot of new changes. For one, the show moved from ABC to Fox and switched networks for its cast. The biggest change though was that series creator based the show in Nashville which caused some tension with fans. As for the show itself, it continued to follow the basketball journey of Mitchell Stephens (James Van Der Beek) and his team as they try to make it to Nationals.
There were a lot of big moments during the season, but here are five of the most talked about:
1. Mitchell Stephens Gets into a altercation with his father leading to a suspension from school;
2. Mitchell steps up in an important game against rival team Red Storm;
3. The team suffers injuries throughout the season which causes them to miss crucial games;
4. James Van Der Beek leaves the show after four seasons saying he will “miss everyone on set”;
5. At Nationals, Mitchell and his team come in fourth place but still manage to win over fans with their underdog story
Final Thoughts
What did you think of the fourth season of “All American”?
The final season of “All American” was definitely an emotional roller coaster. We saw some major character developments, and some intense fights between the characters. Overall, it was a pretty great season. Here are some spoilers for what happened, along with some photos from the finale!
In the finale, things came to a head between Tony and Kendall. Kendall called Tony out on his abusive behavior, and Tony responded by punching her in the face. Tony then decided to leave town for good, leaving Kendall behind. It’s unclear if either of them will be back in future seasons, but we can only hope that they can work things out.
Elsewhere in the finale, it was revealed that Dylan is actually Adam’s son. This revelation caused a lot of drama between Adam and Alba, as they fought over who should take custody of Dylan. Ultimately, Alba won custody and took Dylan away with her. It’s unclear what will happen next with Adam and Dylan; we hope they can reconcile someday!
Lastly, there were a few big reveals at the end of the finale. Reese had been working for Mossad all this time; he was actually spying on Tony and Kendall for his Israeli handlers! And also at the end of the episode, it was revealed that Alex is pregnant with Starr’s baby (or as close to pregnant as she is). This news created a lot of drama between Alex

Season four of “All American” aired from September 25, 2017 to May 17, 2018 on the ABC network. The show follows the life of high school football player and prominent African-American athlete Lamar Jackson (played by actor and musician Sterling K. Brown) in the fictional city of Greenwood, Mississippi.
In the fourth season, Jackson enters his junior year at Lamar High School as a top player and favorite to win the state championship. However, he is faced with new challenges including racism from some of his white classmates and pressure from his father to succeed in athletics. Despite these obstacles, Jackson continues to work hard on and off the field to become a better person and teammate.
The fourth season ended with Lamar’s team winning their first ever state championship game. Along with Jackson’s performance as quarterback, several other black athletes took home championships in different sports including track & field, wrestling, soccer, and basketball. This success was hailed as a major milestone for diversity in American sports and helped propel “All American” into renewed popularity for its fifth season which aired from September 25th to May 17th of this year.
Since its inception in 2016, “All American” has been praised for its depiction of Black teenage life in America. The show has helped introduce many new fans to sportswear brands such as Nike who have sponsored Lamar throughout the series. After being blackmailed by her drug dealer into robbing his business, Josh works with the FBI to bring down her supplier. Along the way she also becomes romantically involved with FBI agent Timo Rojas (Anson Mount), but things quickly get complicated when he finds out about her past.

As per usual with television shows, the ending of Season Four is not a happy one – though it does provide some hope for Season Five. Maya (Aubrey Plaza) decides she wants out of detention and goes on a rampage at school; Peter (Timothy Olyphant) tries to deal with his guilt over his sister’s death; Jackson (Jesse Williams) is thrust into the role of White House advisor while dealing with an unexpected pregnancy; and Cody (Joel McHale) must deal with being blacklisted from Hollywood.
